ABOUT THE ROLE
A leading GCC construction group launching operations in Syria is looking for a seasoned GM to lead its entire contracting division from tendering and project execution to client relations and team leadership
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct all contracting operations across multiple project sites in Syria
- Own the division P&L and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Build and maintain relationships with government entities, developers, and stakeholders
- Recruit, develop, and lead project managers, engineers, and site supervisors
- Drive new business, prepare competitive bids, and negotiate contracts
- Identify and mitigate contractual, financial, and operational risks
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and company safety standards
- Provide strategic performance reports to senior leadership
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- 15+ years in construction contracting, 5+ years in a GM or senior leadership role
- Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (Master’s preferred)
- Proven track record delivering large-scale civil and infrastructure projects
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing multimillion-dollar contracts
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills
- Fluent in Arabic; English proficiency is an advantage
