We are building large-scale e-commerce marketplace and need skilled Backend Developers to engineer the powerful, scalable systems that power every transaction, search, order, and seller interaction on the platform.
You will design and build robust microservices, APIs, and data pipelines that handle thousands of concurrent users, millions of product listings, and real-time order processing. You care about clean architecture, system reliability, and building things that scale and you thrive in a collaborative, fast-moving engineering environment.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable microservices and RESTful/GraphQL APIs for the marketplace platform
- Develop core e-commerce services — product catalogue, inventory, order management, payment processing, and seller tools
- Architect and optimize database schemas across relational and NoSQL databases for performance and scale
- Implement message queues and event-driven architectures for asynchronous processing (orders, notifications, analytics)
- Integrate third-party services — payment gateways, SMS/email providers, logistics APIs, and mapping services
- Build and maintain secure authentication and authorization systems (JWT, OAuth2, role-based access)
- Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure service reliability
- Monitor system health, troubleshoot production issues, and implement performance improvements
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical planning sessions
- Collaborate with frontend developers to define and deliver clean, well-documented API contracts
- Contribute to CI/CD pipeline setup and deployment automation
- Document services, APIs, and technical decisions clearly for team reference

Requirements
- 3–6 years of professional backend development experience with Node.js and/or Python
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles and GraphQL
- Solid experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis)
- Experience designing and implementing microservices architecture
- Familiarity with message brokers — RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar
- Understanding of authentication and security best practices (JWT, OAuth2, HTTPS, input validation)
- Experience with cloud platforms — AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Proficient in Git-based workflows, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex distributed systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
Nice to have
- Experience building backend systems for high-traffic e-commerce or marketplace platforms
- Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch for product search and catalogue indexing
- Familiarity with payment gateway integrations (Stripe, PayTabs, or local Syrian payment solutions)
- Experience with serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Functions)
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations and secure coding standards (OWASP Top 10)
- Open source contributions or strong GitHub portfolio
